John Sebey, 68, of Willmar, died Sunday morning, October 14, at his home in Willmar following a seven month battle with lung cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 a. Wednesday, October 17, at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be in the Echo City Cemetery. Tuesday, October 16, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church. John Robert Sebey was born January 23, 1944, in Granite Falls, Minnesota, the son of Prescott and Magdalen Holland Sebey. He grew up and received his education in Echo, graduating from Echo High School. In high school he played football, being on the undefeated 9-man team, basketball, baseball and competed in track and field, setting several school records.
